By deploying mobile diagnostic technologies and personalised healthcare solutions directly into care homes, Visionary Eyecare is elevating standards for residents across the nation.
A serial innovator in healthtech, Sahal also founded VMD Health, scaling handheld diagnostic and rapid testing technologies across the UK and Europe.
Driven by a vision to revolutionise mobile health outcomes, Visionary Eyecare is currently expanding its footprint to become England’s primary provider of domiciliary optical and hearing care services.

Head of Operational Excellence & Care
With over 40 years of optical experience, I bring a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to exceptional eye care. My career includes 20 years leading teams as a Manager at Boots Opticians, alongside 15 dedicated years delivering specialised optical services directly within care home environments. Having also travelled the world, I bring a uniquely adaptable, compassionate, and global perspective to my work. I pride myself on combining high-level clinical knowledge with genuine empathy, ensuring every patient—regardless of their mobility or setting—receives personalized, top-tier optical care.
Lillyanne Whitby
Quality Control & Logistics Manager
Bringing an exceptional eye for detail and a proven track record in high-standards operational support, Lillyanne serves as our Quality Control and Logistics Manager. Known for her meticulous approach and dedication to patient care, she oversees the final inspection of all eyewear, ensuring every pair meets exact prescriptions and quality standards before dispatch. Lillyanne coordinates our end-to-end delivery pipeline, guaranteeing that every customer receives flawless glasses quickly, reliably, and tailored perfectly to their needs.
Ruby Mayes
Compliance & Business Manager
Ruby brings extensive experience in operational management, quality monitoring, and regulatory compliance across the healthcare and social care sectors. Holding an NVQ Level 5 in Management and Leadership, she has previously served as a Registered Care Manager in numerous care homes and a Quality Contract Monitoring Officer, giving her a deep background in safeguarding, CQC standards, risk assessments, and service auditing. At Visionary Eyecare, Ruby oversees day-to-day business operations and maintains strict regulatory standards, ensuring seamless, high-quality, and fully compliant care directly to every care home.
Abu Bakr Navsa
Head of IT & Design
With over five years of experience in software development and more than a decade in graphic design, Abu Bakr leads the technology and digital infrastructure at Visionary Eyecare. He oversees both the frontend and backend of our systems, ensuring they remain reliable, efficient, and tailored to the needs of the practice.
Abu Bakr manages our bespoke digital portal for care homes, enabling them to securely manage patient information, submit requests, and track appointments and prescriptions. His expertise in data transformation, web application development, system management, and design helps drive the technology that supports our team and delivers an efficient service to our patients.
